What types of technologies do you use to build websites?
Web Rock Star uses the latest open source web technologies. This allows me to significantly reduce costs to you and deliver a quality product faster. Although I do strive for complete client satisfaction, if you are not satisfied with my services and wish to work with another web company, it is easy to find another company who understands how these technologies work and how your site was made.
Do you have a portfolio of projects you have worked on?
Demand for Web Rock Star services has been tremendous. I have not had a chance to create a portfolio/case study section on the website yet. Feel free to contact me and we can talk about work I have done in the past. Chances are, if you found this site you have already seen work from a previous project.
Do you really do everything when it comes to making and marketing a website?
Web Rock Star has the experience, expertise and skills to execute everything from defining the site objectives to fully launched live site.
Web Marketing is really a separate phase of the website. This involves paying for advertisements (usually on Google Adsense or Facebooks Ads). This is an optional phase but may be well suited for some types of organizations / businesses. Web Rock Star does perform the set up and integration of social media accounts into your site. However, paid advertising and social media account management is not a service I provide. I am happy to refer you to some partners who can fulfill your need in this area.
If you require custom media such as professional photographs, illustration or video we do have partners we work with who can do this for you. Photography, illustration and video production have a separate workflow to the website and can be done in parallel (simultaneously). There is really no way to optimize or streamline custom video, photography or illustration along with the website.
If the project is extremely large scale (for example, if you want your own search engine like Google or Bing) it will likely be better to work with a team of people as well.
How come Web Rock Star is not on Facebook, Twitter, etc?
Just because everyone else is doing something doesn’t mean it is right for us. The ultimate goal of social media marketing is to generate more interest and desire for your product or service. I already have a lot of work for myself. In addition, some people do not realize that it takes a considerable amount of time to keep social media profiles updated with fresh content, moderate comments etc. Social media does have it’s place, but it is important to use it intelligently with the specifics of your business / organization. The only thing worse than no social media profile is one that is poorly managed, with the latest content being 3 months old. This leaves visitors wondering if your company is still is business and gives the impression that you are very disorganized.
Did you know that Apple is one of the biggest companies in the world? Did you also know they do not have any official Facebook or Twitter accounts? Do a search and find out more about this. But for a popular musical artist, social media is extremely important. Fans want to be updated with latest concert dates, songs and merchandise. There is so much potential for inviting friends to concerts online or sharing a new song on your profile. I like to maximize my client’s time and money. Sometimes no, limited or extensive social media presence is best for a client – or myself.
Who are the people behind Web Rock Star?
Web Rock Star is primarily made up of me, Steve ( Hello! ). I do have a network of support contacts (other designers, developers, marketing specialists, writers, etc) who can assist me with projects as needed. One of the core values of Web Rock Star is honesty and transparency when it comes to work. For most projects their services are not needed. If any of these talented individuals are doing work on your project you will meet them first and know about it before the work takes place.
